Hi there! I’m Liam, nice to meet you.
I guess this is the place where I tell you a little bit about who I am. My name is Liam Williams, and I am currently working as a “full stack” engineer at Lemonaid Health, a telehealth startup in San Francisco focused on bringing ultra low-cost healthcare to everyone in America. They are an amazing company doing some really great (and well-needed) work, so feel free to stop by and check them out here. I am also about to start the Professional MBA program at Saint Mary’s College of California, working to obtain a dual-concentration in entrepreneurship and business analytics.
Before Lemonaid, I graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Having family in tech and playing copious amounts of video games in my youth, I was always very curious as to how it all worked and came together to form the technology we know today. In November of 2018 I enrolled in Hack Reactor, a rigorous coding bootcamp, which propelled me from zero to….not zero with software engineering. It was easily one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life to date, and I highly recommend it for anyone that is serious about becoming a software engineer. Their website is located here.
For the two of you that have made it this far and still want to know more about me (one can’t help but wonder why) I used to play water polo and even joined a D1 team my freshman year of college (Go Tigers!). It’s a great sport and if you haven’t heard of it, think of it like soccer in the water. And yes, the horses are great swimmers. I also have a deep love for music, which is a common factor in all of my family members. My brother Josh (professionally known as Ieuan) is a very talented artist and releases great music. It is clear where he got it from, as my mother Lorraine also releases her own music which can be found here.
TLDR:
Water polo guy gets political science degree, wants to get into tech, goes to bootcamp, becomes software engineer. You’re welcome.
